Peace Festival for
the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the WARP Summit
September 18, the Peace Festival was held at the Seoul Olympic Stadium as part of the 2nd Annual Commemoration of the September 18 WARP Summit, which was cohosted by HWPL (Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light, Chairman Man Hee Lee), IWPG (International Women’s Peace Group, Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim), and IPYG (International Peace Youth Group, Director Doohyen Kim).
The Peace Festival was attended by 100,000 people from 130 countries including Ivo Josipović, Former President of Croatia; Hrant Bagratyan, Former Prime Minister of Armenia ; and Odeta Nishani, First Lady of Albania.
Opening and proceeding with the entrance ceremony of political leaders, members of the International Law Peace Committee, Leaders of women and youth groups and religious leaders; the parade of 13 branches of HWPL; a stadium card stunt performed by 14,400 members of IPYG; a performance of the IWPG peace choir with 300 singers; the Starlight performance; the event was filled with art performances and sports games matching the scenes from the Olympic Games.
From September 17 to 19, during the three days of the WARP Summit, sessions for different groups of participants convened such as conferences for ministers, legal experts, religious leaders, the media, and women’s groups, including high level meetings to promote the development and adoption of the DPCW at the UN. The DPCW (Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War) takes its roots from the International Convention for Cessation of War and the Achievement of World Peace, drafted and presented at last year’s WARP Summit by the HWPL International Law Peace Committee. The DPCW was proclaimed March 14.
