The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Mongolia Ulaanbaatar Branch successfully held the “IWPG Mongolia Women’s Peace Conference” under the theme “Realizing Peace through Women’s Solidarity” at the Ulaanbaatar Hotel in Ulaanbaatar.
Approximately 350 participants, including Mongolian government officials, the IWPG Peace Committee Representative, leaders of MOU/A partner organizations, Women’s Peace Education graduates, and IWPG members, gathered to advance peacebuilding and strengthen women’s solidarity across Mongolia.
To date, the Ulaanbaatar Branch has provided Women’s Peace Education to approximately 1,200 women and established Peace Committees in 18 regions nationwide.
Im Mi-sook, Director of IWPG Global Region 9, stated, “We will continue to collaborate actively on the development and implementation of peace programs so that the Ulaanbaatar Branch can grow further and achieve tangible results.”
At the event, the Regional Director presented certificates of appointment to six new Peace Committee Representatives, including a social studies teacher from Tomrobulag Soum General Education School in Khövsgöl Aimag and appointed one new Women’s Peace Instructor. Five MOAs and three MOUs were signed with seven organizations, solidifying the foundation for peace cooperation.
In addition, before and after the conference, individual meetings with attendees were held to discuss practical measures for advancing peace collaboration.
IWPG is an international women’s NGO registered with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the UN Department of Global Communications (DGC). It currently has members and 115 branches in 122 countries and collaborates with 808 partner organizations in 68 countries.
