Since the beginning of human history, wars have continuously taken countless lives, destroyed homes, and threatened the coexistence and prosperity of humankind.
In a world where the embers of war have never been fully extinguished, peace has long remained a dream of humanity.
To realize world peace, we must address the root causes of war and establish a system that prevents recurrence and ensures sustainable peace.
However, under the current framework of international law, the production of weapons of war is permitted, and war itself is allowed under certain conditions.
In response, IWPG’s peace partner organization, HWPL, presented a new answer to peace through the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of War (DPCW).
Following the launch of the HWPL International Law Peace Committee (ILPC) in 2015 composed of legal experts from 17 countries this declaration was created through extensive meetings and research.
It was officially proclaimed on March 14, 2016, at 3:14 p.m. in Seoul, Republic of Korea.
