Urging the Enactment of the DPCW into International Law

IWPG recognizes that each article of the DPCW contains concrete measures to institutionalize and realize peace.
What is essential for the legalization of the DPCW is the powerful support of women who can raise their voices against the horrors of war and for the value of peace.
In solidarity with women around the world, we are carrying out a variety of initiatives to promote the submission of the DPCW to the United Nations.

DPCW Support Signature Campaign

We are conducting a signature campaign led by women in support of the legalization of the DPCW.
To encourage global participation, our signature campaign website is available in eight languages.
Offline, we work in collaboration with cities and government institutions to engage citizens and gather widespread support.

Campaign to Urge the Legalization of the DPCW

To promote the articles of the DPCW to the public, we organize various campaigns based on each provision, such as halting the production of weapons and advocating for women’s rights.
We also encourage civic action to urge the DPCW to gain legally binding force.

IWPG sends letters of support for the legalization of the DPCW and the realization of peace to heads of state.
In 2022, immediately following the outbreak of the Russia–Ukraine war, we delivered letters urging an end to the war to women leaders around the world.

Call for the Conclusion of a Korean Peninsula Peace Agreement

The Republic of Korea remains the world’s only nation still technically at war under an armistice agreement and the only divided country in the world.
Achieving peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula is essential to ending war globally.

IWPG is working in solidarity with women from around the world to urge the signing of a peace agreement between South and North Korea.
In 2017, a declaration supporting Korean unification was announced in Seoul, and IWPG launched the ‘Ten Million Signature Campaign to Urge the Conclusion of a Korean Peace Agreement.’

Fueled by the support of global citizens, this campaign spread throughout the Republic of Korea and to countries across the world.
