IWPG Hosts the ‘International Loving Peace Art Competition’ in Frankfurt, Germany

Published On: 2025년 07월 11일

On June 7, 2025, the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) successfully held the first International Loving Peace Art Competition in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The event took place at the cultural center Der Kleine Mann mit dem Blitz in Alt-Sachsenhausen and served as a platform for showcasing artworks and fostering dialogue on peace.

Organized by IWPG, the competition featured creative artworks by children, effectively expressing their perspectives on peace and community. The company Format, based in Darmstadt, donated paper to highlight the harmony between women’s NGOs and corporate partners.

Artists Eddy Ochieng and E.M. Collard participated as judges, lending professional insight to the evaluation process.

At the venue, children created artworks visualizing various interpretations of peace, contributing meaningfully to conversations about environmental protection and cultural exchange. One participating child explained the title of their artwork by saying, “We only have one Earth to live on, so we shouldn’t destroy it,” reflecting a deep awareness of nature and sustainability as key elements of peace.

The team leader of IWPG Frankfurt stated, “Modern society increasingly emphasizes social cohesion, mutual respect, and environmental consciousness. The International Loving Peace Art Competition demonstrates how art can encourage constructive dialogue and peace-centered participation within communities. We received positive feedback from families, insightful contributions from young artists, and generous sponsorship from businesses — showing the potential to drive practical improvements in urban cultural communities. We especially thank Format of Darmstadt for taking the lead in supporting peace through their paper sponsorship.”

Through the careful evaluation by expert judges, two outstanding artworks were selected. These pieces will be used in IWPG’s future public relations campaigns and are expected to serve as lasting sources of inspiration.
