IWPG promotes peace initiative

The International Women’s Peace Groups Global (IWPG) regional director, Grace Jang, is urging more women to participate in the program and collaborate to promote peace in Fiji.

Officiating at the IWPG Peace Conference Program last Saturday, Ms Jang said she was deeply inspired by the people’s strong desire for peace after her initial exposure to Fiji through Women’s Peace Education in 2023.

“Even though we met online, I could truly feel how warm-hearted, pure-spirited, and peace-loving the people of Fiji are,” she shared, relating to the theme, Peace begins within.
“Peace is essential to all of humanity. It is something both heaven and earth long for.

To achieve this noble value of peace, the role of women is crucial, and the power of education is indispensable.”

She said the Women’s Peace Education provided deeper significance to personal lives, which contributes to shaping the future of our communities.

“Peace is not something far away. When peace begins within me, it extends to our homes, our communities, our nations and ultimately, the world.

“After all, peace starts within me. We hope more women can join our group and work together for peace in Fiji.”
