IWPG Global Region 3 and Park Christian Foundation of Pakistan Join Hands for Peace Implementation
The International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG) Global Region 3 (Director Heo Eun-joo) announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) online with Park Christian Foundation (President Tirakh Samuel) of Pakistan on July 15 to cooperate in achieving peace.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will collaborate in various areas including ▲online Women’s Peace Education, ▲the International Loving-Peace Art Competition, and ▲peace content sharing. In particular, they agreed to build a sustainable partnership to address religious and social conflicts in Pakistan.
Previously, the two organizations met during the 68th UN Commission on the Status of Women (UN CSW) held at the UN headquarters in New York this March. Since then, they have continued various exchanges, such as participating in the Peace Lecturer Training Education (PLTE) and preparing for the International Loving-Peace Art Competition.
Founded in 2014, the Park Christian Foundation has been active in ▲providing basic livelihood support in Pakistan, ▲offering educational opportunities in underdeveloped regions, ▲improving the safety and welfare of Christian women and girls, ▲addressing unemployment issues, and ▲disaster relief.
Director Heo Eun-joo of IWPG Global Region 3 stated, “This agreement marks a meaningful beginning for Pakistani women to take the lead in realizing the value of peace. We hope our continued cooperation will bring about positive change in the local community.”
President Tirakh Samuel commented, “Through this partnership with IWPG, I hope the women and children in our region can learn the importance of peace and move beyond conflict toward harmony. I look forward to building a better future together.”
Meanwhile, IWPG is an international women’s NGO registered with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It actively promotes peace culture through global women’s solidarity, the International Loving-Peace Art Competition, Women’s Peace Education, and the establishment of institutions for peace.
