Children from 61 Countries Share Their Visions of Peace Through Art Across Seven Cities
2026.10.24

Children and young people from around the world have expressed their hopes for peace through art. Award-winning works from the 8th International Loving Peace Art Competition (ILPAC), hosted by the International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), will be exhibited across seven cities in South Korea from October 24 to December 16. The touring exhibition will give local communities an opportunity to explore how the next generation envisions peace through their artwork.
This year’s competition was held under the theme “My Story of Peace” and drew 7,810 children and young people from 61 countries. Participants expressed what peace means to them through their own perspectives and experiences, putting their hopes for a peaceful world onto paper.
Launched in South Korea in 2018, the competition has since grown into an international event involving IWPG’s partner organizations worldwide, with approximately 70,000 students participating to date. It aims to help children and young people reflect on the end of war and world peace, while connecting the idea of peace to their own lives through creative expression.
The touring exhibition will feature 37 outstanding works selected from the competition’s international finals. Around 30 additional award-winning works from regional preliminary rounds will also be displayed, allowing visitors to discover how students in their own communities have expressed their hopes for peace.
Created by children living in different countries and circumstances, the artworks offer a range of perspectives on peace. Visitors will have the opportunity to reflect on the importance of peace through the messages conveyed in each piece and consider how peace relates to everyday life.
The exhibition will also feature promotional materials and interactive activities designed to introduce visitors to a culture of peace and encourage broader community engagement.
The exhibition will open in Chuncheon on October 24 before traveling to Yeosu, Gunsan, Incheon, Seoul, Daejeon and Busan. The tour will continue through December 16, with exhibitions taking place according to the schedule below.
An IWPG representative said, “We hope the messages of peace expressed by children, the leaders of the next generation, will deeply resonate with everyone who visits the exhibition,” and encouraged members of the public to attend.
